Question: Small breasts & big nipples – can I correct without implants?

Question:Your Questions Answered by the Surgeons at Aurora Clinics

I have really big areolas and they’re puffy, but my breasts are very small. I think the breast bud didn’t develop correctly and has stayed directly behind the areola, causing this terrible deformity.

Do you know if I can get this fixed without having to get implants?

Answer:

Thank you for your message. It sounds like it would be possible to correct this without implants.

Surgery usually involves reduction in the amount of tissue behind your areolas and often a small reduction in the width of your areolas themselves. This is normally performed by a scar which lies on the juction of the brown skin of the areola and your normal skin which usually heals very well.
