Surgeon's comment
This lady had heavy eyelids on both sides which run in the family. The eyelids were resting on her eyelashes limiting upwards vision and producing a heavy tired feeling and appearance to the upper eyelids. Surgery is performed using a upper blepharoplasty technique removing skin and small portions of fat pads from the inner aspects of the eyelids on both sides. Post operative photographs 4 weeks following surgery shows good appearance to the upper eyelids, with scar located in the eyelid fold. The scar is slightly red at this stage and is expected to fade to a silvery line. The tissue between the eye and the eyelashes is slightly swollen and again it will settle within the following weeks. Patient noted improved field vision and a lighter sensation to her upper eyelid giving her a fresher look and feel. Surgery time: 45 minutes performed by Adrian Richards.
