When will I be able to get back to normal activities following Breast Enlargement surgery?
With modern anaesthetics and surgical techniques, recovery is now much quicker following breast enlargement surgery.
Generally, we do advise people in manual work to take a week off work and then they find they can return to normal activities. During the week after surgery most people do have some discomfort in their chest which they liken to a swelling tight sensation for 3-4 days.
This occurs around a similar time to the swelling in the breast area which causes some of the discomfort. After a week, the tenderness normally subsides and most people are able to get back to normal activities but if you do manual tasks such as raising your arms high and lifting it may be sensible to take up to 2 weeks off work before returning to full activities.
