In this blog post, we will be covering all types of breast surgery available at our Aurora Clinics in Bucks and Northampton.
Breast Augmentation is a surgical procedure to improve or enhance the shape, size or volume of the breasts by adding implants. At our clinics, we only use the highest quality implants and our surgeons will be able to advise on the best shape and size after carefully listening to your desired goals.
Breast Reduction is a surgical procedure to reduce the size of the breasts. The procedure consists of removing breast tissue to reduce the weight and volume to achieve smaller and lighter breasts.
Breast Uplift is a surgical procedure to lift and reshape the breast for a more youthful-looking appearance. It consists of removing any excess skin or breast tissue to then lift and reshape the breasts. It is also possible to have a breast enlargement with uplift if you wish to achieve fuller and more voluminous results.
Breast Implant Removal is the surgical procedure to remove the existing implants. Many women opt to remove their implants for several reasons; capsular contracture, rupture or may have experienced some issues. It is possible to perform a breast implant removal procedure and an uplift to reshape the breast without the need for implants.
Breast Implant Replacement is the procedure to exchange the existing implants for new ones; bigger sized implants, smaller shaped implants or different implant type. This is usually performed due to personal preference or for medical reasons.
Tuberous Breast Correction Tuberous breasts are an abnormality in the shape of the breast. This condition is genetic and is characterised by a tightened, narrow base of the breast and a high crease, causing the breasts to be elongated. Tuberous breasts are very common but can vary greatly in severity. There are two different surgical options available to treat tuberous breasts:
- Internal release of the constricting tissue and insertion of a breast implant: The release of the tissue will help widen the base of the breast and by inserting the implant the breast, the breasts will look fuller and voluminous yet natural-looking.
- A tissue expander (inflatable implant): This procedure will be ideal for patients who suffer from a more severe constriction of the tissue. With this technique, the implant is slowly blown up (usually every week) with a series of injections of salt water to help gradually stretch the skin tissue.
Asymmetry Correction breast asymmetry is very common. Many people have slight breast asymmetries but are not severe enough to undergo surgery. Nonetheless, there are cases of more severe asymmetry that can be corrected with different procedures such as; breast augmentation, breast reduction or breast uplift. All these procedures can help correct breast asymmetry.
Inverted Nipple Correction is a surgical procedure to correct the position of the nipples. This procedure is performed in both men and women under local anaesthetic in just 30 minutes. Patients are able to recover from the comfort of their homes in just one hour after the procedure.
Areola Reduction is a surgical procedure to reduce or re-shape the areolas. This procedure can be performed under either local or general anaesthetic on both men and women and it requires minimal downtime. With this procedure, the breast skin can be tightened to elevate the nipple to a slightly higher position.
Nipple Reduction is a surgical procedure to correct overly prominent, wide or puffy nipples. This procedure is popular among both men and women and it can be performed under local or light general anaesthetic. The procedure usually takes around 20 minutes per nipple.
