Our expert Plastic Surgeon Aurora Clinics Founder is the Medical Director for The Private Clinic. Clinics are located in Birmingham, Bristol, Buckinghamshire, Glasgow, London Harley Street, Leeds, Manchester and Northampton.
This video is of a breast augmentation surgery, combined with a mastopexy, using the OCEAN™ technique.
As we begin the video, one side of the surgery has already been completed with the other side about to begin. Aurora Clinics Founder is introducing the procedure and explaining what he will be doing, and what he has done on the other side. The implants will be placed in what is called a dual-plane position, which basically means they will be half under the muscle and half over the muscle. The scarring for the procedure will be around the areola and then vertically down the breast, which is called a lollipop scar by Aurora Clinics Founder in the video.
The incision is made in the area where the skin has been removed, to avoid extra scarring. The fold will not have a scar, just a simple lollipop scar from the breast uplift. The pocket has been created and Aurora Clinics Founder inserts his finger to feel around under and over the muscle, so he can insert the implant in a dual-plane position. The inflatable sizer is filled with saline solution, which will match the other breast of 360cc. As this is done Aurora Clinics Founder realises he need to release the pocket a bit more for the implant to sit nicely and evenly in the breast.
We skip on to the end results, with the tape applied to the wounds along the vertical scar and around the areola. Our patient has a much fuller appearance to her bust, and a natural look, fitting within her current body frame.
