This surgery video is of a patient coming in for a unilateral earlobe repair following a stretch. He began stretching it around 5 years ago, and got it to 12mm. He thinks it is currently about half the size it was at its biggest, and he has had nothing in it for 4 years. Mr Richards removes the excess skin from within the ear, in order to be able to sew it up as it has to be exposed tissue rather than healed skin.
The inner hole is removed, and Mr Richards sews it up. He uses an absorbable stitch which will dissolve on its own, therefore avoiding the need for the patient to return for their stitches to be removed. The final appearance is still a bit swollen because of the local anaesthetic. They state how they were comfortable throughout, happy and felt literally no pain through the entire procedure.
