In this video our patient came for earlobe repair on a stretched earlobe, that at its peak reached a massive 46mm. He felt the phase of stretching his ears was behind him and it had hampered his search for regular employment as he was immediately branded on his appearance. We conducted a mini interview before the surgery, where our patient stated it had begun to physically annoy him, with people constantly asking him about it, touching it and putting things through it. He had a hand from a friend go through it, along with a coke can, which are some of the larger things he put or had put through the hole in his ear.

We see every stage of the procedure in this video from the administration of the anaesthetic, to the removal of the excess earlobe skin and tissue, to the stitching up of the wound. Mr Richards talks to our patient throughout as he is just under local anaesthetic.

At the end of the procedure we spoke to the patient who was surprised how quick it was completed, and very pleased with his overall result.
