Nipple Reduction may not get its fair share of coverage in the media, but it’s something we consistently receive enquiries about at Aurora.
In our experience, when people ask us about nipple reduction, they may actually be referring to two procedures: nipple reduction or gynecomastia surgery (male breast reduction).
Each of these surgeries can be used to improve the nipple area, depending on the precise nature of the problem.
Some people suffer from enlargement of the nipples themselves, but often the issue is with the areolae (the brown areas around each nipple), which may be too large, misshapen or puffy.
Let’s look at the three different procedures that come under the umbrella of nipple reduction:
1. Nipple Reduction
For some people, the nipple itself may protrude too much, be too wide, or be uneven in shape. The nipples may be visible through clothing and cause significant embarrassment. People affected may avoid any activities which involve changing in public, for example going swimming. For these people, nipple reduction surgery can be used to make the nipples smaller or less prominent. This is a very straightforward procedure carried out under local anaesthetic. Find out more here.
2. Gynecomastia Surgery
