How long is the recovery following Rhinoplasty surgery?
We recently received an enquiry from a policeman who was considering a rhinoplasty operation.
He could be off work for 3 weeks but was concerned that his nose would still be fragile and susceptible to further damage at work after this period.
In our reply, we explained that the nose would look essentially normal at the 3-week period with most of the bruising and swelling having dissipated. However, the bones of the nose which have been reset during the operation are still relatively fragile and would be susceptible to movement if he sustained any direct trauma to the nose itself.
We therefore suggested that he aim to perform light duties for 1 month following his rhinoplasty operation to avoid the potential for trauma to his nose in the early healing period.
