Realistically you are looking at a couple of weeks off work, and depending on your job, you may be fit enough to return after that. You will have tenderness, swelling and bruising present for approximately six weeks, and should only perform tasks when you feel comfortable too. Some people can get back to things like driving after two weeks, whereas some are still sore and stiff after 4 weeks, and don’t feel comfortable to drive. Overall we think after 6 weeks you should be back to full fitness, but we find some people are back to their everyday routines after approximately 4 weeks.
