Liposuction
Liposuction is a procedure where fatty deposits are sucked out of your body through hollow cannula. Liposuction can treat most areas of the body, but the most common which have stubborn fatty areas that won’t shift with exercise are, the face and neck area, stomach and flanks and then all of the legs. The thighs, and hips are very popular areas for the procedure as this is where most stubborn fat collects.
There are many varied techniques for liposuction. Aesthetic advancements have led to different techniques being used, which help in the recovery process. They used to use very little fluid, which caused heavy bruising and swelling, but now with Tumescent liposuction, fluid is inserted which contains local anaesthetic and adrenaline which reduces pain and bruising during and after the procedure.
The efficiency of fat removal has also improved with the advancement in knowledge and technology. The techniques are; Vaser Liposuction, Power-assisted Liposuction, Water-assisted Liposuction and Smart Liposuction. These techniques do pretty much the same job, but different equipment is used to perform each one. For the best possible results for you we suggest during your consultation you get advised by your surgeon on the best technique for your circumstances.
