Another edition of our Nipple Reduction FAQ series brings us the classic question we receive on all breast related procedures, can you breastfeed post surgery.
Sadly, a nipple reduction procedure will more than likely leave you unable to breastfeed. One of the most common causes for large nipples is actually breatfeeding. Because of this, many of our patients aren’t too concerned about this issue, as they have already been through the breastfeeding process, or they are male, who can’t breastfeed anyway. We will warn you, that if you are planning to breastfeed in the future, then it is probably a good idea to wait to have this surgery. Similar to waiting until after you have had all the children you want before opting to have a tummy tuck.
