What is the ideal weight to have a Tummy Tuck?
Interested in tummy tuck surgery, but carrying extra weight? What’s the ideal weight to have a tummy tuck?
This is a question we’re often asked and we always recommend that people have a BMI (Body Mass Index) of at least 30 or below before having surgery such as tummy tuck surgery or breast reduction surgery.
This is because the wound healing is much improved if your body mass index is below 30.
The other factor is that if you have surgery and then lose weight you will gain excess skin laxity although your skin was tightened fully during your tummy tuck operation.
I would advise anyone considering this surgery to make sure their body mass index is below 30 prior to considering any form of breast reduction or tummy tuck surgery.
