Dear Aurora Clinics, does “En Bloc” breast implant removal eliminate scar tissue around the implant and also remove the implant? Please can you explain this technique further along with arguments for and against. Do you use this method at Aurora Clinics?

Answer:

Yes, the En Bloc procedure removes both the breast implant and the surrounding capsule (which is essentially scar tissue positioned around the implant).

The advantage of en-bloc removal is that all of the capsule is removed along with the implant itself which means that any tissue left behind is natural body tissue and you are less likely to have capsule formation in the future. We are able to use this technique at Aurora Clinics where required.
